Cáit Noone Appointed as New President of Galway Chamber

Galway Chamber is delighted to announce the appointment of Cáit Noone as its new President, following her confirmation at the Galway Chamber’s Annual General Meeting. Cáit, who currently serves as Head of the Galway International Hotel School at Atlantic Technological University, brings a wealth of experience in leadership and international engagement to her new role.

In her address at the AGM, Cáit expressed her gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to lead Galway Chamber:
“I am hugely honoured and humbled to have been elected as President. As a member-driven organisation, I believe it’s essential we listen closely to our members, to ensure the Chamber’s priorities evolve to meet their needs. We’ll be focusing on increased outreach and member engagement, ensuring the voices of our community are reflected in everything we do.”

Cáit also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing President Eveanna Ryan, offering heartfelt thanks for her guidance and leadership:
“Eveanna, you have been incredibly kind, patient, and gracious. You always found the middle ground and ensured we stayed on track. I am deeply grateful for your support, and the Chamber is stronger thanks to your dedication.”

Cáit highlighted the importance of collaboration and innovation during her term, acknowledging the exciting prospects ahead. She noted that a mix of in-person and online engagement opportunities would be offered to members, fostering deeper connections and conversations about the future direction of the Chamber.

Cáit Noone’s extensive career spans leadership roles across Ireland and internationally. Having joined Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) in 2007 after 16 years abroad, Cáit has held several key positions, including Head of the College of Tourism and Arts and Vice President for International Engagement. She was previously Dean of the first International Hotel Management School in China and has led numerous research projects in the tourism sector worldwide.

In addition to her professional achievements, Cáit has served on boards such as COPE Galway and Laureate Education. She has played a significant role in Galway’s strategic bids for European Capital of Culture and European Region of Gastronomy.

The Chamber board, council, and team look forward to working with Cáit and embracing her leadership vision for the year ahead.
